Research On Present Situation Of China To Russia’s Timber Import And Export Trade And Effect Factors

With the increasingly fierce competition of global resources and the raising of international ecological consciousness, as the necessary material goods in economic and social development, wood has been changed from common economic resource to strategic resource and causes high attention and general concern all over the world.As a result of Chinese increasing demand on importing timber and the expansion of exporting timber scale, Chinese timber import and export trade has been achieved rapid development. Russia is China’s neighbor and the richest forest resources country in the world. With the deepening political and economic changes between the two countries and the influence of international environment, strengthening timber trade cooperation between the two countries is their common aspiration.Based on the background, this paper uses the relevant theories of international trade and selects the data from1992to2010to analyze the current situation and influence factors of Chinese import and export trade to Russia. Firstly, this paper analyzes the situation of China and Russia forest resources and characteristics of Chinese timber trade to Russia, and considers that the timber trade is increasing with the reasonable trade structure and mainly based on the inter-industry trade. Secondly, through the analysis on fifteen factors, this paper considers that most of the factors contribute to trade between China and Russia. Finally, according to the conclusions, this paper give some suggestions in order to improve the timber trade from China to Russia.
