Study On Biological Characteristics And Germination Conditions Of Corydalis Edulis

Corydalis are hardy plants that have the characters of blooming earlier,peculiar flowertype,variety of colors,ability of self-sowing, resistance to damp, and so on.They’re usuallygrowing in the undergrowth, slopes or stony place, a piece of the growth can form goodlandscape effects, such as configuring in the side of pool and forest edge form flowerborder,.They are beautiful flowering plants and water conservation plants,also,because they arewidely distributing in China, they can be widespread used in many places,so they have a broadapplication prospects. But the Corydalis seeds have dormancy and the germination rate ofCorydalis seeds are low,these factors cause some difficulties in Corydalis domestication andapplication, Therefore, this experiment study the seed dormancy breaking and seed germinationcondition,the main results were as follows:The dormancy of Corydalis edulis seeds belonged to embryo after-ripening dormancy.Temperature-accelerated stratification for40days.Along with processing of the stratification time,seed coat of the Corydalis edulis seeds were damaged,and there were some crack of it whichleads to the completely abscission of the exopleura finally. When the stratification ended,part ofthe Corydalis edulis Seed began to germinate,the embryo differentiated completely. With theextension of stratification,SOD activity decreased slowly;SP content increased slowly;solublesugar content decreased at first,then increased;and Pro content increased at first,then decreased,atlast,it increased again.Soaked with GA3and the suitable temperature could heighten the germination rate, thetreatment of C5(1500mg/L)and T3(15℃) was effectively. theCorydalis edulis seed started togerminate at the third day,the forth day came to the germination peak,the average germinationnumber were10.3;The germination rate and germination energy of Corydalis edulis seed were36%and30.66%;effect of GA3on the Corydalis edulis seedling’s root length、stem length andratio of root and stem were not significant.When the treatment was T5,the stem of Corydalisedulis seedling grew rapidly.when the temperature was T4,the root length and ratio of root andstem of Corydalis edulis seedling were the max.In the condition of lighting,the cleft rate and germination energy of Corydalis edulis seedwere slightly lower than the dark condition.But in the condition of lighting,when the Corydalisedulis seed’s shell cracked,they were easily infected by fungal,the seed growing retardation, theroot and stem stop elongating.
