The current domestic velocity measurement calibration standard is still in a research stage. It’s need to design a velocity calibration verification standard system to verify and calibrate other speed measuring devices. The emergence of GPS (Global Position System) provides an entirely new technical approach and practical methods for the measurement of speed. The global positioning system can be highly accurate speed measurement, as other speed measuring device’s traceable calibration system.In the premise of researching current velocity measurement calibration level of development, and make a detailed analysis and study of the principles of GPS velocity and then focused analysis of the Doppler frequency shift algorithm about GPS velocity measurement characteristics. On the basis of the above research, designed speed calibration system as GPS velocity measurement as a calibration standard for other speed measuring device.The AsteRx2e as GPS signal accept module, through the relevant vehicle experiment, and data collection, the analysis of experimental results, it’s concluded that the sample analysis of speed update rate reached25Hz that prove velocity measurement system’s is real-time; Through the calculation speed standard deviation, speed measuring precision can be up to less than0.01m/s, can draw speed measuring precision meet the requirements of the vehicle calibration.Select the IPC touch-screen display which based on WinCE system as the GPS speed data control module. Program code in the EVC platform, reads and displays real-time data and then makes display interface more attractive. Make a in-car experiment when after packaging of system, the results of experiment show that the speed measuring precision and speed update rate all meet the requirement.
