Since the middle of the last century, the trend of global warming is increasingly serious, the scholars of related fields have attached great importance to the increasing secondary disasters which were triggered by intensive rain process and extreme weather. There were different kinds of vegetations growing in landslide-prone areas. Chronologically, the rainfall-induced landslides may go through the series process as follow:rainfallâ†'part of the rainfall infiltrated to the slope groundwater through vegetation coverâ†'interaction between groundwater and rock soil massâ†'landslide. In well vegetated woodlands the hydrological functions in soils play a major role in storing and regulating soil moisture, while shrinkage cracks, solute dissolving, faunal tunnels, root channels, and interaggregate porosity are common in soil mass of woodland. The background of this study is precipitation-induced landslide. The object of this study is soil mass macropores which is the main factor in the process of rainfallâ†'part of the rainfall infiltrated to the slope groundwater. This paper is aim to study the morphological characteristic of soil mass macropores. The main contents of this study are as follows:(1) The method of using water breakthrough curves and Poiseuille equation to estimate the radius range and amounts of soil mass macropores was extremely simple, while the results were based on the process of moisture dynamic measurement and reflecting the relation between soil moisture movement and the characteristic of macropores (radius and amount).(2) The another object is to investigate the impact factors of soil mass macropore through the determination of soil organic matter content and the mass density of plant roots.(3) We used the software named ImageJ which is useful for CT image preprocessing. We use the software named Volview which is useful for reconstruction and image analysis of3D macropores space networks from CT data.
