The ecological environment is the basis for human survival and development,along with the development and progress of human society, the scope and intensityof human impact on the ecological environment are constantly increasing, whichalso caused ecological problems in the region continue to expand and intensify. Sopeople research on the ecological environment has increased. Mongolia TibetanAutonomous Prefecture of Haixi of Qinghai province is located in Qinghai-TibetPlateau, Qinghai province is the largest area of the state, the mainstay of the regionof Qaidam Basin is China’s largest circular economy pilot zones, is an importantnational strategic resource reserve, is to support important supporting the economicdevelopment of Qinghai province of the society, and is also one of the important inQinghai Province ecological sensitive area, so the ecological environmental qualityassessment of Haixi prefecture has important realistic significance.Based on the deep analysis of the functions and characteristics of GIS, thepresent situation of ecological environment quality evaluation of the use of GIStechnology at home and abroad, discusses the methods of extracting the ecologicalenvironment status information from remote sensing image of the band selection,band combination, image processing and other information, through fieldverification and area statistics, get the Haixi Prefecture Land Use and land cover data.On the basis of analyzing the data, using basic geographic information and imagedata resource, the conceptual design, logical design and physical design of the threesteps of data analysis, an ecological environment spatial database based onGeodatabase data model. Based on the database of ecological environment of space,the use of GIS in the environment evaluation of the application and reference tosome environmental evaluation standard of existing evaluation on this issue, the useof the National Environmental Protection Agency "ecological environmental qualityassessment of technical specifications" method, gradually calculate relevantenvironmental quality index, including the biological abundance index, vegetationcover index, water density index, land degradation index, environmental quality index. Indicated through the study of changes in the2010Qinghai Haixienvironmental condition index and its dynamic: Haixi state ecological environmentquality index EI between17to52, EI system is relatively low. According to thegrade of ecological and environmental conditions, the areas of serious drought littlerain, low vegetation coverage, species less obvious, factors which restrict humansurvival and development. The results show that, the poor quality of ecologicalenvironment in Haixi Prefecture, and is closely related to the area of Typical Alpinearid plateau continental climate and natural environment conditions.
