Water hazard is an unavoidable problem in coal mine production. The common characteristics of water hazards indicate the high importance of hydrogeological work, especially the clear understanding of mine hydrogeological conditions. Poor understanding of the hydrogeological characteristics and groundwater systems together with unclear delineation of the hydrogeological units are the main factors leading to the ineffectiveness of mine water control measures, which poses a serious threat on mine safety production.The study area of this thesis-Shennan mine block includes Zhangjiamao, Ningtiaota and Hongliulin oil field. Based on collected geological data, this thesis analyzed the geological and hydrogeological conditions, summarized the hydrogeological characteristics, analyzed the recharge, runoff and discharge conditions of the main aquifer, impermeable layer and groundwater, as well as water-filled conditions and the possibility of water hazard.According to relevant guidelines and results, we divided each level of underground water system, analyzed the controlling factors of the division system, divided the surface water basins, studied the water yield property, analyzed the groundwater storage characteristics and determined the palaeogeomorphological characteristics.The results indicate that the hydrogeological units in the region are controlled by regional geological conditions, hydrogeological conditions, ancient depositional environment, spatial characteristics of stratum, structural conditions and modern topography; groundwater watershed is in coincidence with modern watershed; direction of groundwater runoff is NW-ES; based on the contours of bedrock surface, the location of ancient river and relatively water-rich area of the aquifer is determined. The spatial location of the ancient river channels are basically the same with modern river channels. Groundwater in the study area has large catchment area and ample water supply.Based on qualitative analysis and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, Analytical Hierarchy process is applied to divide the four and five groundwater system. The area where water hazard may occur is delineated and countermeasures are proposed.
