Oil is the most important renewable energy sources of the world. Nowadays the global oil and gas recovery is generally low. The time-lapse seismic technology with geophysical methods, which became popular in the1980s, is one of the important ways to improve oil recovery, and it can bring high economic value.Firstly, the concept of time-lapse seismic, application background, practical significance and the current development status at home and abroad are described, the description of the research of positive seismic forward and inverse methods are given, so is a brief introduction of the contrast-source method.Followed by a discussion of the computer simulation truncate the computational domain boundary method-absorbing boundary conditions, absorbing boundary layers, perfectly matched layers. By adding a perfectly matched layer correction to the initial model a forward model is established. With the discretization of the finite difference methods, the wave source is located in the center the top of the case while the top of the other to carry forward modeling. Finally, the principle of the finite-difference contrast source method is showed. The fact that finite-difference contrast inversion source depends less accuracy of the forward problems. Compared with Gauss-Newton method and nonlinear conjugate gradient method, the finite-difference contrast source inversion method has the computation greatly reduced. With two examples, the accuracy and efficiency of the finite-difference contrast source inversion method is showed, while anti-noise capability is showed too.
