Integrated previous data and new data which get by geological surveys, petrology,mineralogy, geochemistry, geochronology and other research methods on the Qingshuiquanophiolite in the southern Altyn Tagh, Xinjiang. We got the geological features of ophiolite andU-Pb isotopic age of the cumulates Gabbrod. We try to explain the formation of ophiolite andits tectonic significance.1.Qingshuiquan ophiolite has been dismembered and output in tectonic slice. Theassemble of ophiolite suite which compared to the standard ophiolite suite is incomplete. Theassemble of Qingshuiquan ophiolite suite includes mantle peridotite and cumulates.2. Qingshuiquan ophiolite mantle peridotite which has homogeneous composition andintense alteration includes the harzburgite and minor dunite. Olivine is forsterite.Rocks havelow∑REE and flat REE. Mantle peridotite is the residue of mantle which has underwentmoderate-high degree of partial melting, and then went through the metasomatism of fluidin the process of subduction.3. Qingshuiquan ophiolite cumulates which is bedded rock and intense alterationincludes dunite, pyroxenite, gabbro, diorite. Olivine is chrysolite, plagioclase is Pei-feldsparand a little austrian feldspar. Dunite, pyroxenite and gabbr has flat REE, diorite hasenrichment of LREE.4. U-Pb isotopic age of zircon from the cumulates gabbro is dated at(464±1.8Ma).Provide a new evidence to the subduction of Onam Oceanic plate.5. A single High Pd sample form Qingshuiquan ophiolite mantle peridotite, whichsuggested that the region may have the potential to find PGE deposits.
