The water vapor in the Earth’s atmosphere affects the variation of the weather systems.The conventional water vapor detecting ways severely restricted the ability of time-varyingwater vapor characteristics and spatial distribution, However, the ground-based GPStechnology provides a mean of atmospheric sounding ways, it has the advantages of highspatial and temporal resolution, high detection accuracy, low cost, independent of weatherconditions, without calibration, simple and convenient.so it can offset the disadvantages ofconventional detecting ways. As the interdisciplinary of Geodesy and Atmospheric Sciences,such as getting precipitation in high-precision, retrieving based on GPS slant water vapordistribution, water vapor tomography algorithms in high-precision, there are a number ofcritical technical issues to be further refinement and resolution in ground-based GPSmeteorology.From the practical point of departure, in this thesis, a few key technologies of detectingwater vapor using Ground-based GPS/MET are studied thoroughly based summarizing thetheory and methods of GPS detecting water vapor. Such as how to get high precision obtainedprecipitation PWV, analyze troposphere models, get GPS slant-path water vapor SWV, andchromatograph water vapor space distribution. The main contents are as follows:1、From the principle of ground-based GPS technology,we elaborated analyze methodand the influencing factors of atmospheric PWV, Finally, we use the radiosonde data provedthe validity of GPS-PWV;2、we introduce the conventional tropospheric delay correction model, analysis theadvantages and disadvantages, provide an important reference for the establishment of localand global tropospheric model;3、we compare the two modes of obtain the troposphere delays, explore using the precisepoint positioning mode to get water vapor spatial distribution, the use of a single GPS stationslant path the distribution of water vapor the inversion variation of water vapor in the HongKong rainstorms, reflecting the observation of regional ground-based GPS network slant pathwater vapor can effectively detect the distribution and variation of water vapor in differentdirections. 4、Analyze the commonly used tomography algorithm of the spatial distribution ofground-based GPS water-vapor and based on robust method component approach to solve theadditional constraints chromatography algorithm given the right, as well as crude errorinterference chromatography accuracy problems, at last, use Hong Kong regionalground-based GPS network data proved the algorithm was validated.
