Photonic crystal is first mentioned by E. Yabnolovitch and S. John. Photonic cry-stal is a new type of artificial microstructured material with a characteristic of photonic bandgap(PBG) structure. And it has peculiar ability of inhibiting spontaneous radiation of atoms and controlling light propagation. It will be widely used in the fields of optical communication, microwave commucation intergration communication,inter-gration optical and many others. So,it has high theoretical significance and extensive application value. In addition, due to the important physical meaning of Goos-Hanchen shift, the Goos-Hanchen shift and the Goos-Hanchen shift in negative refractive materials after the emergence of negative refractive materials had attracted more and more attention too.The main contents of this paper are as follows:Chapter one mainly introduced the background of the photonic crystal, Physical Infrastructure and major characteristic.Compared and analysed the theoretical methods of photonic crystal. And briefly introduced the research situation of Goos-Hanchen shift.Chapter two focused on transfer matrix method, deduced the transfer matrix of light propagating in one-dimensional photonic crystal. Simulated the transmission properties of light propagating in one-dimensional photonic crystals.Chapter three simply gave an outline of negative refractive materials and Goos-Hanchen shift. Deduced the Goos-Hanchen shift of weakly absorbing left hand-ed materials by using the transfer matrix method.Chapter four made a summary.
