Especially the industry commonly known as "Ice-black chicken","Ice-ink" black-jadeite,was a time of soaring prices. black-jadeite in the reflected light and transmitted light showdifferent shades of black,gray-Black colors, dark-colored mineral generally show a crumb,ribbon, clouds, star point features."Ice-black chicken","Ice-ink" is the delicate texture to ice andground glass. Previous research on literature and black-jadeite is not much, for minerals andgemological research in-depth for black-jadeite, black-jadeite to be perfect grade classification.In this paper, conventional instruments detected under the microscope and infrared spectralcharacteristics established gemological characteristics of black-jadeite, you can easily and quicklyidentify black-jadeite and other similar black jade; through a polarizing microscope, scanningelectron microscope (SEM), electron probe test, X ray powder diffraction, infrared spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy, and other modern testing methods for black-jadeite mineral composition,chemical composition, structure and color origin were studied.Infrared spectral analysis, X ray diffraction analysis and electron probe test found that: themineral composition of black-jadeite is mainly of jadeite and omphacite. Scanning electronmicroscope observations and Raman spectroscopy analysis showed: black jade in dark mineralsas amorphous carbon, black jade showed black, shape is round granular.Polarizing microscope observation, the structure features of black-jadeite fibrous，inequigranular and columnar crystal structure change， germplas classification according to jade,black-jadeite can be divided into black-chicken and ice-ink two kinds; amorphous carbon presentthree kinds of distribution: infection type strip filling distribution, halo of dust filling distributionand the embedded inclusions distribution, further reveals the coloration mechanism of amorphouscarbon black-jadeite colored.
