Mohexiala area is located in the north slope of the Qimantage mountain in theNortheastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Tectonically, it situated in the conbining site betweenQaidam landmass and Qimantage landmass, corresponding to the Qimantage-Dulanorogenic subzone in the late Caledonian East Kunlun orogenic belt.The orogenic subzone blong to the Qimantage-Dulan Variscan iron, cobalt, copper, lead,zinc, tin and wollastonite (Sb, Bi) metallogenic belt, which is rich in endogenic metal depositsas one of the important iron, polymetallic metallogenic belts.This paper, through the field investigation and sampling, detailed researches on petrology,geophysics and geochemistry, ore body, and regional characteristic of mineral resources:(1)has mainly conducted comprehensive analysis of ore-forming geological conditions in thestudy area, processed geological data of Mohexiala, understood the spacial distributionand relations among the geological strata, magmatic rocks and structures, collected thegeological data about surface exploration on Mohexiala in the last ten years, andinvestigated the geological background of mine.(2) identified geological factors of orecontrol mining and ore genesis. The ore-controlling geological factors are the basic study forthe deposit in Mohexiala area systematic study of rocks and minerals from the mine,associated with the existing metallogenic belt can determine the genetic type of deposit.(3)systemically analyses and summary geophysical and geochemical characteristics of the oredeposits in Mohexiala area. Geophysical and geochemical exploration is necessary means tocarry out prospecting in the study area, which is characterized in the work on the basis of.Geophysical and geochemical anomalies to effectively reduce the prospecting target areas,provides the basis for the implementation of deep exploration engineering.(4) pointed out thatfurther prospecting direction in the study area on the basis of the analysis on the syntheticstudy.The paper has comprehensively analyzed the ore-forming geological conditions,processed the geological data of Mohexiala mines, described the spatial distributioncharacteristics and relationship among the geological strata, magmatic rocks and structureof the area. Clearly, the Indosinian magmatic rocks has closely relationship with zincpolymetallic mineralization and geochemical anomaly.The paper has also identified the basic geological factors of ore controlling and oregenesis in the study area. For the main ore-controlling factors, structure (especially theintrusive contact bourdary), strata and intrusive components play key leading role in themetallogenic belt. Through the systematic study of the ore deposit, the genetic type of thedeposit was determined. According to the spatial feature of ore body distribution andformation of ore types, the author considered that the ore deposits existed in this area is aporphyry type. Based on summarizing geophysical and geochemical characteristics of theMohexiala mines, the prospecting targets have effectively been located in relative smallareas, which is providing the basis for the implementation of deeply engineering.At last, based on the analysis on the synthetic study, pointed out that further prospectingdirection in the study area.
