Baishixi Manganese Mine is one of the important mines among "manganese triangle". It has important significance to start geological, geochemistry characteristics researches, determine ore-forming material source and environment, Ore control factors, investigate metallogenic regularity and guide ore prospecting in deeper and ourter of mines, since the low degree of geological works.This paper has researched the geological, geochemistry characteristics and petrography on Baishixi Manganese Deposit, deepened the understanding of the ore-controlling factors and got a preliminary study on ore genesis and regularity by using x-ray diffraction, rock-mineral determination and elemental analysis et al.X-ray diffraction and rock-mineral determination determines that the main mineral composition, the main ore texture is micritic texture and micritic clot texture, the main ore structure is massive structure, banded structure.The rock’s n(SiO2)/n(Al2O3) ratio is close to3.6and the main materials is terrigenous. The ore’s n(SiO2)/n(Al2O3) ratio is between3.6to13.7. A conclusion can be drew that materials of ore are multi-source and the ore formations are affected by hydrothermalism and biological activity. The correlation analysis of major element can conclude a similar completion.The trace elements datas are lower than continental crust. The REE elements datas are characterized with rich light REE, flat REE patterns. The characteristic parameters Ceanom>-0.1,δCe is between1.01and1.3and the samples’distribution on the major element tectonic discrimination diagrams, which indicate the area belongs to hypoxia reducing sedimentary environment and continental margin tectonic environment. The characteristic parameters of trace and REE elements both reveal that the formation of Baishixi Manganese Deposit is affected by hydrothermal activity.Baishixi Manganese Deposit is controlled by stratum (era) and has features that time and layer control the formation. The materials from multi-source deposited in the continental margin, reducing sedimentary, and transformed by hydrothermalism.
