The studies are based on the materials collected from Yunnan, Sichuan, Xizang, Shaanxi, Xinjiang and Qinghai provinces, which are conserved in HMAS-L and KUN-L, using the methods of morphology, anatomy, ecology, geography, chemistry and molecular biology on the basis of identification. The taxonomic study results of Allocetraria from China have been reported as follows:Up to now,12species of Allocetraria from China are reported, including one published new species:A. capitata, two unpublished new species:A. corrugatula and A. vunnanensis. The nrDNAITS of A. stracheyi (Bab.) Kurok.&Lai, A. ambigua (Bab.) Kurok.&Lai、A. madreporiformis(With.) Karnefelt&A. Thell, A. endochrysea(Lynge) Karnefelt&A. Thell, A. flavonigrescens A. Thell&Randlane and A. sinensisX.Q. Gao are sequenced. The Maximum Likelihood tree based on nrDNA ITS and the other cetrarioid lichens from Genbank are analyzed, and the result shows that this genus is a monophyletic group. The anatomic characters including cortex structure, ascus structure and the shape of conidia are carefully observed. The secondary metabolic substances are detected with thin layer chromatography (TLC). Higher fatty acids such as lichesterinic and protolichesterinic fatty acids, are characteristic substances of most the genus Allocetraria.A preliminary geographical analysis of Allocetraria from China show that they belong to four elements:Circumpolar element, East Asian-North American disjunctive element, Himalayan element, and species endemic to China. All species in the world are reported from China, and the six species is endemic to China. Among which10species belong to Himalayan element and endemic to China, constituting83%of the total number of the species in the world, indicating that East Asia, especially China, is the current distribution center of Allocetraria. The lichens of Allocetraira are mainly distributed in Southwest, Northwest, North China, East China and sporadically in other regions.A key to species of Allocetrariafrom China, and the detailed descriptions of morphology, anatomy, chemistry, substratum, distribution in domestic and the similarities and differences between them and their close species are supplied.
