The Study On The Description And Application Of Digital Track Map

The development of the Geography Information System (GIS) makes the digital map more and more widely used and it is playing a growing role. With digital map being used in railway territory, digital track map emerged as the times require and began to play a more and more important role in different operation systems.。The so-called digital track map refers to the track database which includes the relevant information of the operating lines. Digital track map differs from each other in its application direction in accordance with different content it stores. Currently, digital track map is mainly used in the following aspects:combined with GNSS, ODO and other technologies, developing the function of train operation control system; combined with the status of train station, utilized in route arrangement, infrastructure management or station operation simulation; combined with positioning information, used in train position publish and train operation scenario visualization; combined with other trains’ information, arrange train timetable; or as a format of data exchange, used in data transmission between different railway operation systems.Based on the digital track map technology, this paper conducts researches on the description method and the application in practical engineering projects of digital track map. First of all, the paper focus on several railway systems widely utilized in China and abroad, and conducts a comparative study on the description method of their digital track map. In addition, combined with the requirements of train control system, the paper designed a digital track map that could be generally used by train control system. During the designing, combined with the features of rail transportation, the paper described and explained the topological structure of digital track map in different resolution, and designed the digital track map from the respect of simplify the data exchange based on XML technology comparing with the European standard data interface of railway applications.Secondly, in the light of the situation confronted in the practical engineering projects such as Hanyi railway and Jinmei railway transportation company, setting the method of combining digital track map and GPS as the technical background, based on large amount of measured track’s GPS data, the paper conducted research on the quality assessment and verification method of digital track map. Starting from the requirements of practical engineering projects, the paper describes the methods of quality assessment and data verification of digital track map from the respects of correctness, completeness and accuracy. And then at the end of the paper, it developed a track map validation software with C#in the integrated development environment VS2010which could be used in the practical engineering projects as a tool to improve the work efficiency.
