Hami basin is one of the most arid region in China. As a typical inner basin,it’saverage annul rainfall is only35.3mm,while it’s average annual evaporationreaches3089mm.Unlike it’s shortage of water resources,Hami basin has abundantcoal resources, whick leads to a large demand of water. In order to guarantee thestrategic deployment of deliver the coal to the east, there is a requirement offurther reasonable planning. In accordance to the project of groudwater exploration of the coal base in theeastern Xinjiang province, this paper collected the exploration materials and usingthe NDVI data to construct the regional three-dimension groundwater flow modelwith the help of GMS and some other softwares.According to the simulationresults, the amount of the average annual recharge of the obsis in Hami basinaccounts for5.5168×108m3.The main sources of the system are lateral flow, riverseepage and inflitration recharge of irrigation. While the discharge amount of thesystem is6.5893×108m3,which is mainly composed by artificial exploitation. On the basis of the regional model, the paper simulate the groundwatler flowfield in the next two decades and then discuss the drawdown in differentgroundwater explotitation layout according to the theory that groundwaterexplotitation layout has a great influence on regional groundwater flow field.Theresult shows that the layout used now need to be improve. This paper also tried tofind out how much water can be exploit in the piedmont gobi area without having anoticeable impact on the groundwater flow field of the obsis. The result shows that40×104m3/d is acceptable.
