Gezigoudong gold deposit is located in the Western Junggar regioninXinjiang,which is a small-sized deposit generated along the hunging wall of theAnqifracture in the West Junggar gold metallogenicdomain.Bynow,the researchinglevel on this deposit is still very low,as its tectonic setting, geological features,ore-controlling factors, mineralization enrichment regularityand the genesis of thegold deposit is still lack of a systematic study in a meticulous and deepgoing way.The scientific research work based on systematically study of regional geologicaland geochemical data,by the means of outside work in this area, chemical analysis tothe rock and fluid inclusion experiment,in order to figure out the characteristics of oredeposit,the metallogenic background,ore-controlling conditions and depositgenesis.Main achievement as following:The formation,Baogutu group(C2b)which contains gold is a predominantlyintermediate-acid volcanic and clastic rock formation, characters on the TAS figurereveals basic volcanic rock series. Ore body is right within the fracture zone developsin the volcanic rock, with lenticular and vein output. The ore is mainly composed ofquartz vein type and altered rock type.According tothe geological and geochemicalcharacteristics,Gezigoudongdeposit is controlled by secondary fracture,the earlycarboniferous formation, granite magma during late carboniferous epoch.Rare earth element analysis was carried out on the two kinds quartzfrom the ores,the figure shows that two types of quartz has different rare earthelementscharacteristics.Combining with the results of other researchers,we believethat the deposit may suffered a hydrothermal reformation after it was formed,however,the hydrothermal reformation contributed little to the Metallogenicenrichment。The value from the vein of δ34S‰is-1.2,which shows the characteristic ofmantle,indicating that sulphur is derived from the mantle material.Hydrogen andoxygen isotope characteristics from the other deposits shows that, the earlymetallogenic fluid is mainly from magmatic water,while rainwater is mixed with as the metallogenicenvironment getting open。Prospecting marks of thisarea mainly include: the secondary fracture, gray quartzvein, As geochemical anomaly and sericitization, chloritization,carbonatization,arsenopyrite of surrounding rock, etc.Considering those research, we think that Gezigoudong deposit is a medium-lowtemperature deposit which is related to magmatic hydrothermal.
