Anninghe fault zone is located in the eastern of Tibetan Plateau, east of MiddleHengduan Mountains. As a typical alpine valley region of the Tibetan Plateau, this areahas high mountains and deep valleys, with difficult terrain and huge relief amplitude.Under the influence of the uplift of Tibetan Plateau and plate collision, crustalmovement of the area is very strong during a long period, in result of sustainabledevelopment of fault activity. Strong activity of Anninghe fault is one of the controllingfactors of the frequently occurring geo-hazards in the area.In the field of engineering geology and geo-hazard, geological hazard effect ofactive faults is an important research task. Through summarize and analyze of thefracture characteristics and geo-hazards in Anninghe fault zone west of Sichuanprovince, joint with field investigation results and relevant test data, the paper made asummary of development characteristics and activity of the Anninghe fault zone, thenanalyzed the development and distribution characteristics of geo-hazards and itsinfluence factors in this area. After that, by using software ANSYS to simulate stability of Zhongba landslideunder the effect of fault creep. Expected results can provide theoretical guidance for theresearch of development and distribution laws of geo-hazards in active fault zoneregions, and provide theoretical basis for early identification of geo-hazards andgeo-hazard prevention and reduction in active tectonic zone.Subsequently, the paper conducted a preliminary study of the geological hazardeffect of Anninghe fault zone, by using discrete element analysis software2D-Block,simulated the forming process of Manshuiwantang ancient earthquake high-speedlong-distance landslide to explore formation process of the landslide hazard caused byintensive fault movement(earthquake). In the process of research, several achievements be obtained as follows:(1)Under control of fault zone, rock mass of slope structure has a high crushingextent, which takes a direct role in promoting the occurrence of geo-hazards.Geo-hazards continuous to happen because of the fault creep effect when the fault crossing through geological hazard body.(2)In terms of slope, internal stress distribution is the decisive factor for the slopefailure mode and mechanism. In the paper, stability simulation of Zhongba historicalearthquake landslide shows, status of stress distribution significantly changed becauseof the exist of faults. Changes mainly reflected in the stress field near the fault plane andintersection part between the fault and slope, partial stress concentration also influencedthe slope stability.(3)Intensive fault movement(earthquake) easily induce high-speed long-distancelandslides, this type of landslide has a characteristics of concatenate property. Based onanalysis results, we divided the process into five stages: earthquake pound substanceejection stage, gravity acceleration-impact stage, mixed soil and gas flying stage, friction deceleration-debris flow stage, motion cease substance deposit stage.Expected results can provide theoretical guidance for the research of developmentand distribution laws of geo-hazards in active fault zone regions, and provide theoreticalbasis for early identification of geo-hazards and geo-hazard prevention and reduction inactive tectonic zone.
