Canada have a vast territory and rich in mineral resources,it has a strongcomplementarity with our country.Exploration degree in the north of Canada(thenorth area of60°N) is very low and the prospecting potential is tremendous.Thisdissertation base on comprehensive study of the formers’achievement,From the pointview of ore deposits and metallogenic prediction to ascertain mineral resourcesdistribution characteristic,dissectgeology characeristic of typical deposits and contrastto typical depoists inland,finnally, predict mineralization potential of dominantminerals in the north of Canada. The main achievements in this dissertation are asfollows:(1)Pb-Zn,diamonds,iron,gold,Cu-Ni sulfide,Uranium are disributed in studyarea,advantage minerals are Pb-Zn deposits,diamond deposits and iron deposits.(2) Dissect PinePoint MVT Pb-Zn deposit,ascertain it occurs in mid-Devonian Presqu’ile dolomite strata of PinePoint group.The host rock is Karst collapse breccia.The mineralization age is late Devonian-early Carboniferous.The characeristic of fluid inclusion is low temperature and high salinity. Characteristicof S istope value show S derived from sea.The characteristic of Lead istope composition is homogeneity and nonradiogentic composition.Pine Point deposit differ from Fankou deposit in aspect of metallogenic epoch, ore characteristics,metallogenic fluid, isotope.(3)Summarize Davik diamond mine,find it locates in centre of Slave craton, Canada sheild.A154N,A154S,A21,A418kimberlite pipes are preservedin Davik diamond mine.The content of Al2O3and SiO2in tuff samples from A418pipe are more enrichment than those in kimberlites of Eakti diamond mine,however,the content of Ti,Nb,V in tuff samples from A418pipe are depeltioncontrast to Ekati,and content of Ni are enrichment relatively.Fulid inclusion study show that the formation of Davik diamond have a close relation with a kind of high density carbonaceous fulid.The study of carbon istope show that carbon forming diamond derived from mantle.The temperature of A154S pipe dia mond forming is1220and1230°C,pressure is5×106kPa. Its metallogenic epoch is55Ma,later than Wafangdian deposit.(4) Dissect Marry river band iron formation,find it occurs in New ArcheanMarry river group,the north of Baffin islnd.The formation of the deposit has aclose relationship with a secondary Fe enrichment mechanism and this mechanism is related to widespread detachment fault.Its scale and grade are higher than Gongchangling deposit.(5)Base on summarize of mineralization characteristic of advantage minerals,analysising five Pb-Zn mineralization potential areas in Selwen basin,three kimberlite diamond mineralization areas in Slave craton,three mineralization potential area (Pb-Zn、Fe、Cu、U) in Arctic islands.
