As the first and foremost productivity, the social value produced by science and technology is the utmost promotion of the whole development and growth.Francis Bacon, a famous philosopher, once said,"The power of knowledge is not only dependent on its value, but more on whether it can spread, and the depth and width of its popularity." Only by the spread and growth can technology provide essential basis for social development and only after the socialization and sharing can technology be the stepladder for the human civilization and progress. Based on this, the research on the importance of technology’s spread and growth would never change by the influence of time, and regional difference. The propagations of technology can enhance the fundamental technology quality and awareness, which can be converted into productivity in certain situations and thus can push forward the human society. Technology can self-improve in the growth and popularity through the upgrading of its theory, as well as the specific technology. Meanwhile, such changes bring about more alternations in both social civilization and the public civilian’s lives. Nothing can proceed in smooth way, and it is but all too natural that slow growth even retreat would occur. Another major significance in the study is that the reflection on the past experience, especially the failure in history, can be adopted to minimize the negative influence in the spread and development of technology. Consequently, the further forward growth of the society can be realized.The paper is in the practicality study of STS, which subjects to the field of philosophy of science and technology. The main structure and contents of the thesis are listed as following. The first chapter mainly deals with the interpretation of the technological and scientific development and spread which functions as the theoretical base of the whole thesis. The first part of the chapter discussed the four Dynamic Modules put forward in Scientific Technology Handbook by Jasanoff, namely, rationality module, competition module, social-culture module, expansion-translation module; The2nd part mainly gives a brief survey of the three demission of the technology and social study, which are SSK, Science education and democracy; The3rd part mainly analyzes the factors which influence the development and spread. The2nd chapter is the key of the whole paper, chiefly talks about the actual situation of Chongqing in the period of anti-Japanese. The analyses largely deal with the main influential factors, such as manpower, material and wit resources. Beginning with the introduction of the decision of considering Chongqing as the temporary capital, including the technological institution, society and university, as well as the social factors, and the government policy, the public’s acceptance, the paper gives a brief introduction of the background information. Based on the theory provided in the1st chapter, the3rd chapter gives a detailed study on the development and growth of wartime-Chongqing. It can be a difficult part of the whole paper. The last part mainly surveys from the everyday life angles, such as clothing, accommodation, movement, besides, it also briefly summarize the technology growth and development involved. The4th chapter is of utmost reality significance, mainly dealing with the influence from the following aspects:economy, politics, military industry, colleges and universities, museums, libraries and the archives, with both positive and negative influences exploited. The5th chapter brings the whole paper, including the study contents and a complete, concise and accurate conclusion.In the writing, literature reading, and integrated analyses are adopted to give a systematic writing. The conclusion drawn is:on the one hand, the growth and development of technology depends on the cognitive acquaintance and acceptance of the public; on the other hand, it needs more support of rational and right activity of all ranks and walks of society, such as the state’s policies, the efforts of scientific institute, and the cultivation form education, and so on. By the integrated analyses of the factors influencing the technology, such as the economy, politics, as well as the comprehensive study of the wartime Chongqing, the paper aims to provide relevant reference and experience for further study,as well as the new study angles for wartime-Chongqing in STS.
