It is usually taken as the main purpose in students’ learning to cultivate the abilities including logic thinking, linguistic competence, hands-on ability, and so on, and the learning effect are often rated by the performance evaluation, so it is a big task for the teachers and the management to give an informative and scientific presentation of the students’ performance, which is a valuable reference for the student management, academic assessment, scholarship evaluation, and employment after graduating.As a commonly-used method, ranking the students’ scores total or average is not scientific enough to analyze the students’ performance or to reflect the students’ all-round qualification, which looks over the differences between the subjects, teachers, examination papers and the test methods. In view of this problem, this paper will make a try to sequence the students’ scores in the way--Factor Analysis. Firstly, through the Principal Components Analysis we can take out the common factors reflecting the students’ qualities in different aspects, and then score the students for different factors and make a sequence over the results demonstrating the students’ competence in various aspects, which can provide valuable reference for teaching students in accordance with their aptitude and recommending the students to job. At last, the variance contribution ratio will go as weight coefficient to figure out the students’ overall score, and then do the ordering to illustrate their capabilities, providing parameter for excellence appraisal.Additionally, there will also be an analysis over the advantage and disadvantage of Factor Analysis in this paper, with an aim to perfect the Factor Analysis and to lead out a more scientific way to make the comprehensive assessment over the students’ performance.
