Sheet metal stamping is a kind of plastic forming technology that separates sheet metal or makes itplastic deformation. Wrinkling, cracking and springback are three major defects that effect theprecision of stamped parts. The influence of springback is the most difficult to control. Bendingforming is a stamping process that has the most severe springback phenomenon. It’s by the stressdistribution on cross section features after bending forming. The die surface compensation method,pressure correction and stretch bending are used to control bending springback. It’s able to control thespringback effectively that accurately predict the springback.Waveform spring coil with GH4169is used for steam turbine sealing. In order to no longer importthe parts, we need to design a set of forming device. Beacause springback has seriously affected theforming precision of the parts on bending forming, so controlling the springback become the keyproblems in this paper.First of all, expounded the bending springback principle, analysis the processes and characteristicsof waveform spring coil forming and springback, calculate springback amount of the wave spring coil,and discuss representation of the springback and factors that affects the springback amount.Second, using ABAQUS/standard to analog the forming and springback processes of waveformspring coil. Finally chosed the suitable technical parameters of this paper to calculate springbackamount after that discussed on key technology of finite element simulation. It’s used to design mouldand for die surface compensation.Third, designed a set of forming device according to the results of finite element simulation.Expounded the structure characteristics of the forming device, and designed hydraulic synchronouscircuit to control the movement of the mold. Finally, produced the wave spring coil and text itsgeometry size and performance to get qualified waveform spring coil.
