The traditional steel bar shearing equipments have some weaknesses, for examplethe continuous cuting, the oil spilling, and the low accuracy of specified length,whichmake it can not meet the engineering demand of PC steel bar production line now. Inview of the weaknesses,therefore the text bring forward a new steel bar shear systems-cam pendulum shearing system and do research and performance analysis on it.In this paper, the technical composition of cam pendulum shearing system iselaborated,the working principle of the shearing system is analysed, the importantparameters of the shear mechanism (shear forece, shear power, power of motor, themoment of inertia of flywheel) is analyzed and calculated. After analyzing the movemetof swinging rod typed cam mechanism, calculating the size and the pressure angle of thecam mechanism,the outline of the conjugate cam is designed by using analytical method,and the formulae of calculating torque is inferred. The three-dimensional mode of theshear mechanism is established by using Solidworks Software,the three key parametersfor the selection of hydraulically actuated clutch/brake combined units are analysed.In this paper, using the Solidworks Simulation software for the constrained modalanalysis on the spindle system, establishing the dynamics model of cam pendulum rodmechanism, calculating the resonance frequency and analysing the dynamic response arecarried out based on establishing the3D model. ADAMS software is used to simulateand analyse the change law of motion parameters, obtain the mechanical parameters ofthe mechanism by considering the effect of friction, the working process of clearance andimpact factors which happened in the working process. The effect about the shear processunder the influence of the flywheel or the pendulum angle size is analysed by usingADAMS. Through the analysis of checking strength and fatigue life of the contact forcebetween cam and the rollers attached to the pendulum, thorough analysis on the periodvariation is obtained.Besides the operating principle of the hydraulic system based on PLC control, theworking process of shear mechanism and the state of the various working stages are analysed. Last, the key time parameters are calculated,the formulae of cutting error isinferred and calculated, the influencing factors that cause cutting error in the shearprocess are analysed.
