With the development of economy, the world is marching toward a city to change, industrialized. With the development of science and technology, people constantly meet the growing material needs, also is faced with a very serious environmental pollution, industrial and transportation emissions of waste contains large amounts of heavy elements, these elements through the air into the soil, directly affects the agricultural production, and then threatens human health. This article through to the Baotou City area, soil sample analysis and on the main road a variety of plants to investigate, draw the following conclusions:(1) There are variety heavy metals in pollution Baotou City;(2) Baotou city soil pH>7, instructions for alkaline soil;(3) Soil heavy metal pollution is the most serious at the Baotou railway, all kinds of metal content exceeding national and international background value; tailings dam, Cu, Cr, Ni content higher than the background value and world background value; Baotou railway Pb content higher than the background value and background value; copper content of Cu higher than the background value and world background value; other kind of heavy metal pollution is not serious.(4) From the pollution source of heavy metal pollution in the nearer, the higher the degree (just pollution category is different.), green space construction time is longer, more complex structure, the farther from pollution source, then the pollution degree of heavy metal is a relatively light.(5)For coniferous species, growth potential is good species are pine, spruce, juniper pine; growth potential in general have tabulaeformis, pine, juniper.
