In recent decades, with the very fast development of the optical parts processing machine tools, the modern manufacturing puts forward the higher and higher demands to them:on the one hand machine should have more and more high requirements of processing performance, on the other hand machines have to be lightweight and low-cost. Due to the limitations of the backward theoretical analysis and test experimental means, machine structure design and calculation mainly followed the traditional ways, dynamic behavior of the machine tool is considered rarely in this way, lead to the result that machine tools with larger safety coefficient, the size and weight of these structures are usually very large, but the results can not play the potential of the material, also does not improve the dynamic characteristics of the structures, so, another way of design way is used in this thesis, and the dynamic characteristics of the machine tool is considered.Based on the double Spindles lapping and polishing machine manufactured by an optical machinery company, established a3D model of the machine tool with Pro/E, a "plug-in" called expert framework was used to realize parametric design of the lathe bed; at the same time finite element analysis software named ANSYS was used as an analytical tool. At first, finite element model of the lathe bed was established, and then analyzed the dynamics character of the lathe bed; natural frequencies and mode shapes were obtained in modal analysis; harmonic response analysis of the lathe bed based on the modal analysis was done; the experimental model analysis of the complete machine had been done and the experimental frequencies and modes of the lathe bed were gained. Compared with the results of FEA, finite element model of the lathe bed was confirmed to be reasonable, it made clear that research method was appropriate, and the theoretical calculation model was correct. The sources of errors were also considered; at last, advices on optimizing the lathe bed were presented by both theoretical analysis results and analysis test results.The lathe bed which studied in this thesis is an important part in the machine tool, the dynamic characteristics of the lathe bed directly affect the machining precision of the machine tool, and the lathe bed is welded by a series of slot steel, the location of the welding and structure of the lathe bed influence a lot on the dynamic characteristics. Reasonable choice of slot steel type, optimization of the lathe bed’s structure without lowering the stiffness and strength, strengthen the weak link, weaken the structure which effect the dynamic characteristics modest, ensure lathe bed meet the needs of design ant-vibration performance, finally achieved the goal of lightweight design of the lathe bed, save materials and reduce the production cost.The content of this thesis is close to actual production, CAD/CAE was used in machine tool structure optimization design process, and good results have been achieved, this research provide a better method to the localization of machine tool design, and make important significance to material saving, reduce the cost and improve the dynamic characteristics of the machine tool.
