Preparation Of High Viscosity Polyvinyl Butyral Resin And Tested The Performance Of Film

Polyvinyl butyral (PVB) resin is divided into high-viscosity one and low-viscosity one according to its molecular weight. The former is mainly used for preparing laminated glazing interlayers, and it has a huge market. However, only a few companies can produce high-viscosity PVB resin in our country, and the product quality is poor. The study found that the defects of domestic PVB resin such as low molecular weight, low viscosity, low acetal, acetalation nonuniform are related to the material of PVA, solvent system, catalyst system, reaction temperature, post-treatment temperature and other factors. This paper starts with the preparation of PVB resin, it improves the conditions of synthesis process, adopts the solvent system of water and isopropyl alcohol to dissolve PVA and the catalyst system of hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid, and synthesizes high-viscosity PVB resin with high-performance after adding a certain amount of butyraldehyde, emulsifier, hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid at a certain temperature respectively and keeps insulation for a period of time at a certain temperature after the transition.This paper chooses four plasticizers, which are DBP, DOP, DBS,3GO, and blended with PVB resin to prepare PVB film and then tests its mechanical property, glass transition temperature and process ability. The results indicate that with the increase of the content of plasticizer, PVB films’tensile strength, Tg and shear viscosity decrease, breaking elongation and melt flow rate increase. The plasticizer of3GO on PVB resin is the best. There is a gap between the PVB film which is synthesized by the PVA-1799and the films prepared by DuPont PVB on film properties, but it has an obvious improvement compared with domestic PVB resin. On the mechanical properties, PVB film which is synthesized by PVA-1799and PVA-2699(3:1) is better than Dupont PVB film.
