With the expansion of urbanization scale in Lanzhou, the vehicle population increasesrapidly, and the influence of vehicle exhaust emission on air pollution becomes more andmore significant. In this paper, detailed surveys were conducted on vehicle population, trafficflow of main road, the distribution of vehicle types, the usage of vehicle fuel, the emission ofstationary sources from2004to2010. The vehicle emissions and apportionment of CO, HC,NO_xand PM are calculated. The impact of speed of light vehicle on emission factor ofdifferent pollutants is analysed. The results are as follows:(1) The strict emission regulations and change of fuel type have a significant effect onlight vehicles, midsize vehicles and heavy duty vehicles.(2) The light vehicle was the one which had the most emission of HC, CO and PM, andmade the most contribution to total emission in2010. The HC, CO and PM emission of lightvehicle were about10000t/a,37000t/a and600t/a, with the contribution rate of85%,76%and68%. The heavy duty vehicle was the one which had the most emission and the mostcontribution to total emission of NO_x,especially the diesel vehicle.(3) The total emissions of HC, CO, NO_xand PM were48859t/a,9863t/a,12267t/a and886t/a in2010, and the apportionment of CO and NO_xwere92.1%and42%, which showedthat CO from exhaust emission has became main source of CO in air.(4) There is a difference in emission factors of different road and different vehicle type.This related to the vehicle type, speed and driving cycle.(5) Speed is one of the main factors for emission factors.The conclusion drawn from this paper provides the basis for proposing countermeasuresto control vehicle exhaust pollution and relevant departments of management and decision-making.
