Along with the development of science and technology, product development changeswith each passing day. There has been an increasing number of small hole products.Promotion of small holes on thick plate punching die are severely restricted because of its badworking environment. Among them, the die life is the main bottleneck of restricting itsdevelopment. The stress change of small holes on thick plate(4<t<6,d/t≤1) punching die isvery complex. Lack of in-depth research on small holes on thick plate punching die at present.This article select small holes on thick plate(4<t<6,d/t≤1) punching die use Cr12as themain research object and numerical simulation for the simplify the model, Obtain the stresscondition and the amount of wear which punch of small holes on thick plate punching die.Analyze failure for the results on the die by the influence of various process parameters andpredict the fatigue life of punch use FEM and wear life of punch use wear accumulation theoryby the data of analysis.First, compare the difference of small holes on thick plate punching die and ordinarypunching die, discusses the current research status of die life.Second, the invalidation style and influence factors of small holes on thick plate punchingdie are introduced. Make a simple explanation for FEM theory which will be used in the latestage.Again, using UG software to simplified small holes on thick plate(4<t<6,d/t≤1)punching die and numerical simulation for stamping process after import theDeform-3D.Simulate the effective stress and wear of punch in different environment ofprocess parameters.Verify the accuracy of the simulation results by compare the simulationresults and theoretical or actual results. Analyze failure the changing result that is the effectivestress and wear of punch in different process parameters, and further summarizes the influencelaw which is different process parameters to different failure modes such as fatigue failure andwear failure of punch.Finally, introduces several commonly used method of fatigue life prediction and wear lifeprediction, and conclude that the new method in the existing methods. Predict life of fatigueuse FEM and predict life of wear use wear accumulation theory.
