Six new compounds, which are decorated by various rigid ligands and flexibleligands, are synthesized by hydrothermal method on the basis of Cu(CN) buildingblock. The chemical formulas of six compounds can be made by elemental analyses andTG analysis:[{Cu(bpy)}2{Cu2(CN)3}Br]n (bpy=2,2′-bipydine)(1)[Cu9(CN)9(pz)6](pz=pyrazine)(2)[{Cu(imi)}{Cu(CN)2}](imi=imidazole)(3)[{Cu(CN)}2(biim)](biim=biimidazole)(4)[Cu2(CN)2(btp)](btp=1,3′-bis(1,2,4-triazol-l-ly)propane)(5)[Cu2(CN)2(dip)](dip=1,3′-di(1H-imidazol-l-yl)propane)(6)These new compounds are structurally characterized by IR, TG and single crystalX-ray diffractions. The result shows that compounds1exhibits a zig chain backbonecons-tructed by bromide and cyanide anions bridging the Cu (I) atoms, with the[Cu(bpy)(CN)] units pointing laterally.Compound2displays an interesting3-foldinterpenetration network constructed from three independent3D frameworks withCu(CN) and pyz ligands. The structure of3is a3D network,The structure of3form ahexagon-grid structure that exhibits large channels with approximate dimensions of9.668×8.596, although the effective pore size is partly reduced by the iminazole.Intheir paper we report The structure of4is a3D porous framework based on CuCN.Itshoud be point out that the2D layers intertwine with each oher to form3D entangledstructure via nitrogen artom of the ligands and Cu(CN). Compounds5and6areostructural,both of the compounds are decorated by flexibleligands1,3′-bis(1,2,4-triazol-l-ly)propane and1,3′-di(1H-imidazol-l-yl)propane,Cu1ionsalternately Link with ligands and CN-to form a tetranuclear macrocycle with thedimension of ca20.448×19.858.These new compounds are studies of the luminescence properties. The emissionmay be tentatively assigned to a metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT:Cu—CN). It isalso consistent with the results of the IR spectra and is similar to the situation in othercyanide complexes.
