The environmental pollution is an important problem around the world. Nanometer TiO2is one of the best photocatalytic materials. It has the advantages of high efficiency, non-toxicand chemical stablity. However, the conductivity of TiO2is relatively low because of its only3.2eV band gap, and the drawback caused the low utilization of sunlight and the inefficiencytransmitting of the light-generated carriers, which resulted in low efficiency of thephotocatalytic. It is necessary to solve the above problems for the doped of TiO2nanotubearrays, which can broade the range of absorption in the visible region and prolong thelifetime of light-generated carriers.In this paper, we have prepared highly ordered TiO2nanotube arrays anodized on Tisubstrate, designed the Ag deposition on the TiO2surface to obtained Ag/TiO2nanotubesowing to its photocatalytic performance, and investigated the application of its photocatalyticactivity. The details are as follows:1. TiO2nanotube arrays were prepared with the anodic oxidation mehod. The preparationprocess was simple and can be easily controlled. The structure of TiO2nanotube arrays arehighly ordered in micron level. We have discussed the influence of the oxidation voltage,oxidation time and deionized water concentration on TiO2nanotube morphology. The actionmechanism has also been discussed.2. The degradation experiment of methylene blue solution has been carried out to studythe influence of the structure and morphology of TiO2annotates on their photocatalyticproperties.3. In order to improve the photocatalytic efficiency of the TiO2annotates, Ag wasdeposited on the surface of TiO2nanotube arrays by the photoreduction method. Thephotocatalytic properties of the modified TiO2nanotube array films had been investigated.The experimental results show that the photocatalytic properties of Ag-doped TiO2nanotubes have improved significantly...
