The number of waste PET expanded as our country,s polyester production has been thehighest in the world. Recycling and reusing of waste PET has become a grim task with thedevelopment of polyester industry and sustainable environment. Epoxy curing agents aresubject to a wide range of applications in the life of national economy, and epoxy curingagent requirements are different from one to another according to the different needs ofvarious industries. The excellent performance of epoxy resin curing agents may be that thecured product has good thermal stability, good anti-corrosion effect and so on, while thethermal stability is particularly important properties of the many properties of the curing agent.Therefore, it would prepare the epoxy curing agent by combining the degradation of thepolyester product and nontoxic efficient curing agent, and after further modifying its thermalstability, and improving the comprehensive performance. Finally we not only enrich the typeof curing agents, but also achieve efficient use of resources by recycling the polyester andmodifying epoxy curing agent.This study was to recycl this waste polyester (PET) using glycerol as the depolymerizingagent on. And it was tested through using infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), ultraviolet spectrum(UV), Mass spectrum (MS), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), differentialscanning calorimetry analysis (DSC), thermal gravimetric analysis (TG). From study we gotthe suitable process conditions to degrate the waste PET by using Glycerin, and determine theunderstanding of the molecular structure of the polyethylene product according to the thedepolymerization product structural characteristics.Also we test the average molecular weightand the epoxy value of the depolymerization product using the end group analysis method.The analysis showed that: the waste polyester propanetriol catalytic depolymerization largerreactivity of the epoxy groups in its product, which had a longer molecular chain, and may beprepared by the epoxy resin curing agent.The epoxy resin curing agent was prepared by the method of the reaction of degradablepolymers and glycerin.The nanocomposite modified epoxy curing agents were furtherprepared by the method of melt intercalation,and its characterised through infraredspectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), differential scanningcalorimetry analysis (DSC),and thermal gravimetric analysis (TG).From the analysis ofnanoparticles dispersed uniformly and peeling structure significantly nanocomposite epoxycuring agent we got the conclusion that we could prepare nanocomposite epoxy curing agentby method of adding the inorganic nanoparticles Montmorillonite K10,and also we improvedthe melting temperature and the thermal stability of the curing agent.
