Poly(propylene carbonate)(PPC) is a new kind of completely biodegradable polymers, it has good transparency, biodegradable, high barrier property and biological compatibility. Compared with the other polyester, its price is low, but the texture is soft and thermal stability is poor. Polypropylene (PP) is the main raw materials of nonwoven fabric, it is non-toxic, light, non-absorbent, and has good mechanical properties, thermal properties, chemical stability. This paper would prepared PPC/PP nonwoven fabric slices of good comprehensive performance by melt blending of PPC and PP nonwoven fabric slices, expecting for the preparation of biodegradable nonwovens.The melt-blown nonwoven fabric slice of PPC/PP was prepared by melt blending, and the effect of the proportion of raw materials, blending temperature, blending time, blending speed on the mechanical properties of slices was investigated. Results showed that the tensile strength was13.02MPa when the raw material ratio of PPC: PP was7:3, blending temperature was175℃, blending time was5min, blending speed was35r/min.With the content of PP meltblown non-woven fabric slice was increased, the Melt flow rate(MFR) was reduced and thermal decomposition temperatures was increased. The MFR was1563g/10min when the proportion of raw material of PPC/PP was6:4, it was accorded with meltblown non-woven fabric slice requirement.Polypropylene grafted with maleic anhydride and styrene(PP-g-(MAH-co-St)) was prepared by melt grafting, the effects of monomer content of maleic anhydride (MAH) and stryene(St), initiator content of dicumyl peroxide(DCP), reaction temperature and reaction time on the performance of PP-g-(MAH-co-St) were investigated. Results showed that, when the mass ratio of PP:MAH:St:DCP was100:6:6:0.4, the reaction temperature was180℃,the reaction time was3min. the best grafting proportion(GMAH) of PP-g-(MAH-co-St) was1.51%. And the pure PP-g-(MAH-co-St)(The GMAH was0.89%,0.94%,1.51%, respectively) were added into PPC/PP(80/20) melt-blown nonwoven fabric slices, and the effect of different contents and grafting proportions of PP-g-(MAH-co-St) on the structure and performance of the slices were investigated. Result showed that tensile strength of slices were improved and MFRs of slices were reduced with the GMAH and content of PP-g-(MAH-co-St) were increased. When the GMAH was1.51%and the content was8%of the total weight of PPC and PP, the tensile strength of slices was16.64MPa, MFR was321.55g/10min,T-5%was improved25℃, the30d degradation rate was3.71%, respectively. The SEM analysis showed that internal structure was tight and the compatibility of slices was improved. FT-IR and2H NMR spectras showed that ring-opening reactions occur between the anhydride functional groups of PP-g-(MAH-co-St) and PPC, so the compatibility and comprehensive performance of the slices were improved.The MAH and PP-2were added into PPC/PP(80/20) melt-blown nonwoven slices, and the effect of MAH and PP-2on the structure and performance of slices of poly was investigated. FT-IR spectra showed that ring-opening reaction was happened between the anhydride functional groups of MAH and PP-2and PPC. The tensile strength, intrinsic viscosity([η]), and thermal decomposition temperatures of the slices were improved and the MFRs were reduced by adding MAH or PP-2.When added1%MAH or2%PP-2, the tensile strength of the slices was13.64MPa or12.98MPa, the MFR of slices was1002g/10min or3703g/10min,the T-5%was improved44℃or20℃,30d degradation rate of the slices was3.90%or3.88%. The SEM analysis showed that internal structure was tight and the compatibility of slices was improved. Ring-opening reaction, increasing interface adhesion force and reducing interfacial tension maybe the mechanisms of the PP-g-(MAH-co-St), MAH, PP-2.The spun-bonded nonwoven fabric slice of PPC/PP was prepared by melt blending. When the weight ratio of PPC/PP was70:30, the best content of MAH, PP-2and PP-g-(MAH-co-St)(GMAH=1.51%) were1%,3%,8%, the tensile strength of slices were20.16MPa,21.37MPa,26.34MPa, MFR were81.6g/10min,103.6g/10min,46.4g/10min, T-5%were improved50.5℃,10℃,28℃, respectively. The SEM analysis showed that internal structure was tight and the compatibility of slices was improved. The30d degradation rate of slices were more than3.12%, these slices were environment friendly.In this paper, the biodegradable raw material slices of melt-blown nonwoven fabric and spun-bonded nonwoven fabric with good mechanical properties could prepared under optimum conditions. It was the new generation of green and environment friendly material, and it has great significance for expanding the application filed of nonwoven fabric.
