Characteristics of food waste leachate is complicated, it contains high concentration of Inorganic salt, Organic matter and ammonia nitrogen, and rich in various trace elements, which will make a serious impact on the environment if it is not timely and effective treatment. Anaerobic biological treatment technology has more advantages and has been widely used in wastewater treatment industry, which can not only degrade COD effectively, but also produce biogas, to realize resource recycling, In this paper, IC anaerobic reactor was emplyed to deal with food waste leachate of Guangxi university, by investigating the change of each parameter in anaerobic systems, the anaerobic treatment of start-up and operation of the food waste leachate were studied, and the anaerobic biodegradability of food waste leachate and influence of chloride ion concentration on anaerobic reaction were also deeply studied. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) The anaerobic biodegradability of food waste leachate reached up to89.2%, which is appropriate for adopt anaerobic biological treatment, the nature acidification rate of food waste leachate is very fast, the natural degradation of COD was significant, and the concentration of volatile fatty acids (VFA) of was increased after nature acidification for one day.(2) Conditions of anaerobic sequencing batch experiments was simulated by a shaking table, the experimental results shows that:the best volumetric loading for the starting of the tanaerobic reactor of6kgCOD/(m3.d), and the best organic load operation of10kgCOD/(m3.d), at this moment, the COD concentration of the effluent is1100~1300mg/L, the removal rate is about75%, daily gas production up to67L/d, the pH of The effluent maintains within7~8, and the VFA concentration is under1000mg/L. The COD concentration of The effluent rised obviously, the pH down to6, and the VFA concentration is more than1000mg/L, and the reactor begins acidification.(3) With the increase of Cl-concentration, the anaerobic reaction was restrained, and which never came when the Cl-concentration is under5000mg/L, Cl-concentration of5000mg/L was regarded as a suppression threshold, and the COD removal rate began to fall above5000mg/L. in the whole operation of Cl-concentration of7000mg/L, the highest concentration peak of effluent COD is2000mg/L, and the removal rate varys form59.8%to65.1%, contrast to the reactor of Cl-concentration of2000mg/L, removal rate decrease significantly by nearly20%, and the reactor shows signs of acidification.
