Large-scale, intelligent, high reliability and eco-energy are the developmenttrends of heavy machinery and equipment. In order to narrow the gap between thebasis of theoretical and experimental studies of the large, extra large mining equipmentin our country and advanced countries, It is imperative that carrying out the oreticalresearch and on-site detection of the large mineral grinding equipment by using high-tech.The article introduces the course of development, application and developmenttrends, as well as analysis of the equipment works, structure characteristics and therole of various parts and components and working methods of the large mill.It isquickly and conveniently that established mill rotator geometric model by using Pro/ENGINEER,which is one kinds of the CAD design software. The modern design ofthe finite element method, ANSYS Workbench, is used to calculate geometric modeland do static analysis. The stress and strain of the mill rotator during the workingconditions of the no-load, the crushing medium filling rate of40%are obtained in thestatics analysis at first. To test the mill by using the experimental scheme whichformulated under the stress-strain. Compared with the results of the simulationanalysis and on-site detection. Improved the finite element method, make thesimulation analysis result is close to the field test results. Finally, using the improvedfinite element method to calculate the working condition of the third, the crushingmedium filling rate45%of the working condition of simulated analysis, and analysisof the results of the field test results were verified by comparing the finite elementmethod improvedcorrectness. The field of instrumentation andtest method for any other type of mill test provide a reference basis, this way avoid theblindness of on-site inspection and reduce test cost. The engineering designers mayunderstand how to respond to the different types of dynamic response under the samestructure in the modal analysis. Then to avoid equipment specific frequency ofvibration or resonance, and to provide a reference for the further dynamic analysis andvibration test millbasis.
