With the continuous development of the social, people’s living standards improve, the comfort of the textile products has attracted widespread attention. Moisture, warm and fluffy has become the trend what most textile has been pursuing at.The emergence of the low twist yarn and fabric caters to the needs of the consumers. Short operation, high efficiency,environmental friendly,low twist yarn boast itself fluffy,soft, absorbent, warm and fullness.In this paper, the different thickness of single yarn are doubled and then twisted with reverse direction into25kinds of low twist yarn.Based on the observing of the longitudinal form of yarns, and the testing of the performances, such as yarn strength, evenness, hairiness,elasticity and luster. We conduct a trial weaving on the rapier loom,have a study on the features of absorbent,breathable,warm,soft,luster,shading, transmission of ultraviolet. We illustrate the pros an cons of this textiles systematically. Thus lay a foundation for the further research of textiles.The results of testing the performance of yarns show that:(1) In the case of that yarn density ratio is constant,within the selected range of the twist, with the increase of twists,breaking strength of the yarn will increase,the elongation at break will increase also;with the increase of twists,the evenness CV value will present a decreasing trend,the yarn evenness will become better; the hairiness index which above3mm will decrease first and then increase; the elastic recovery rate which in the elongation of10mm will decrease first and then increase,the elastic recovery rate which in the elongation of6mm is not uniform; the yarn luster varies.(2) In the case of that yarn twist is constant,with the decrease of single yarn density ratio, yarn breaking strength will decrease; the yarn evenness CV value will decrease; the hairiness index which above3mm is generally higher which in the density ratio of2.9:1,yarn elasticity decreases.(3) Low twist yarn which consist of two single yarns with different tension,compares to the low twist yarn which consist of two single yarns with same tension, the breaking strength of yarn is close, the yarn evenness is better, the yarn hairness is more, yarn elasticity is smaller.(4) The elongation of low twist yarn which is composited by Nylon monofilament and single cotton yarn is between 7.9%and8.7%;compares to the low twist yarn which is composited by two kinds of cotton yarns,the yarn evenness CV at about12%, yarn evenness is not good;the elasticity in the elongation10mm is better than the elasticity in the elongation6mm.Weaving6series of fabrics,26pieces in total, and testing the performances. The following conclusions can be drawn from this work.(1) The thickness of A series and D series fabrics will increase after washing,the thickness of C series and F series fabrics will not change significantly.(2) In the case of that the other conditions are the same,compactness, thickness,yarn linear density and yarn structure will have effects on performance,such as soft, breathable and warm.(3) Fabrics’ warmth retention property and compression performance is good,UV transmittance is low, reducing the fabric density can improve the fabric soft and fluffy degree.
