With the continuous development of the metallurgical industry, kiln calcinationsincreasingly sophisticated technology, the kiln equipment technology more emphasis onperformance. The rotary kiln is one of the most representatives of the furnace equipment, alsoput forward higher requirements in response to the call of the national energy saving rotary kiln,and want to be able to design the optimal energy consumption and stable performance equipment.To analyze the energy consumption of the rotary kiln and it is necessary to study the heat transferprocess of the rotary kiln.In this paper, with a rotary kiln as the research object, a simulation is conducted withcombustion flame and the temperature distribution of its high-temperature airflow for amine-used rotary kiln, simulated rotary kiln induced draft fan airflow velocity field by usingFluent and ANSYS Workbench. Then, numerical model of the rotary kiln is established andsteady-state thermal analysis is done to obtain the temperature contours and stress contours ofthe kiln body. The results show that kiln outer wall temperature exceeds400°C within somelength range and temperatures vary greatly along the kiln length direction. In order to avoid thebackup roll deformation and make the temperature distribution uniform, a new rotary kilnstructure in which coating thickness is changeable is put forward. Local positions of the rotarykiln appear a large stress concentration. Furthermore, coating thicknesses and kiln structure areoptimized through simulation test. The results show the problems mentioned above are solvedvery well.Heat transfer process of rotary kiln is very complex, in this paper, the main thermal factorsinfluencing the heat transfer process of rotary kiln was analyzed, and by comparing thesimulation results show the influence of thermal factors, based on the result put out someguidance for the production process of rotary kiln.
