Therefore, vitamin E is widely used in cosmetics, health products and food antioxidants, even for the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.Vitamin E is not a single substance. Vitamin E is a class of substances that has similar molecular structure and biological activity. Therefore, the development of high purity alpha tocopherol is significant to the natural vitamin E production enterprises.This paper developed a new natural vitamin E production process, for the production of high purity alpha tocopherol.This production lines from soybean oil deodorizer distillate as the starting material. The high purity alpha tocopherol that content is above90%, the highest for more than96%was got after pretreatment of the methylation reaction, extraction and concentration, hydrogenation, distillation.The process route was omitted the process of preparation of tocopherols concentrate mixed (Content of50%) compared with the old route.The new process route avoids yield loss in the distillation step because of thermal decomposition, oxidative damage, formed side reaction of VE.From the alcoholysis intermediate to alpha tocopherol products, the total yield of VE was increased from the old process78.2%to83%, the yield was increased by4.8percent, equivalent to the cost of the product directly reduces about5%. At the same time, this paper also introduces an effective crystallization method of phytosterols from soybean oil deodorizer distillate. The average recovery rate of phytosterols was increased from71.4%to85.7%, the recovery rate was increased by14.3percent.The new process for the production of high purity alpha tocopherol in this paper has four advantages in the following:â‘ The total yield of tocopherol was improved;â‘¡The recovery rate of plant sterols was improved;â‘¢The production steps was shortened. It saved equipment investment and reduced the cost of the product because of the reducing the times of distillation.â‘£The market competitiveness of the product was enhanced.
