Polyaniline had become one of the most important conducting polymers due to its high conductivity, good redox reversibility, low price of raw material, unique doping mechanism and stability in aqueous solution and air. The purpose of this work was to study the electrochemical performance of polyaniline and its composite and use as the polymer-based materials.Polystyrene sulfonate/PANI films were sucessfully fabricated in aniline and ammonium persulfate acidic solution by using impregnated polymer method. Vanadium ion permeability and area resistance of polystyrene sulfonate/PANI films were determined by visible spectrophotometry and four-point DC method. The optimized conditions were as follows:the concentration of complex solution of aniline hydrochloride and ammonium persulfate was0.1mol/L, the experimental temperature was10℃, the fabrication time was3h. The coefficient of vanadium ion and the area resistance of polystyrene sulfonate/PANI films prepared in the optimum process were1.07×10-7cm2/min and2.16Ω·cm2.Polyaniline film electrode was fabricated by cyclic voltammetry. The electrochemical behaviors were studied in different cationic electrolyte, different acidic electrolyte, different pH electrolyte. The results showed that polyaniline film electrode had the maximum redox peak current and the best electrochemical activity in low pH value of mixed solution of ZnCl2-NH4Cl.Polyaniline and its composite were synthesised by chemical and electrochemical oxidation polymerization. Cyclic voltammetry and amperometric were used to test the electrical properties of polyaniline and its composite dissolving in mixed solution of ZnCl2-NH4Cl. The results showed that the conductivity of polyaniline composite had been significantly improved and enhanced owing to the change of structure, morphology and particle size.Polyaniline film elecrtode, polyvinyl alcohol/polyaniline film electrode, ferric chloride/polyaniline electrode and zinc chloride/polyaniline film electrode were fabricated by using soft and conductive graphite paper by constant current anode electrolysis, which were used as the positive electrode to consitute aqueous zinc-polyaniline/polyaniline composite secondary battery. These constituted batteries were tested at0.2mA/cm2in battery tester. Results showed that the discharge capacity density of battery for polyaniline film anode was169.39mAh/g, the columbic efficiency was still higher than90%at10th cycle. The addition of polyvinyl alcohol, ferric chloride and zinc chloride improve the columbic efficiency, which was higher than100%.
