With the development of society, people’s demand for polyester was increasing year by year. However, the output of domestic existing polyester enterprises was so low. And those enterprises had high energy consumption, low productivity, high production cost, so lack of market competitiveness. As a result, there was no time to delay to develop the package unit of large capacity polyester staple fiber. This paper researched on the closed outer ring cooling device.Firstly, the porous plate and stainless steel screen with low damping coefficient were confirmed as damping materials of cooling device, through the research of damping materials and the rectification mechanism of the annular cooling equipment, which was for reducing product cost and the stabilization of product quality. At the same time, calculation model of resistance coefficient was also gotten. Secondly, the guide plate of the upper chamber was determined, through the simulation of three kinds of wind speed distribution with CFD software. The mathematical model of guide plate was gotten with mass conservation equation and energy conservation equation. Then the detail of guide plate was obtained through solving the equations with MATLAB. Thirdly, it was make sure the mold’s reliable to simulation with CFD software. Meanwhile, the distribution of velocity and internal pressure of equipment parts were acquired too. Finally, the experimental data show the circumferential velocity unevenness is lower than8%, which makes sure the design is correct.
