Since the industrial revolution, human economy and technology has been rapid development, people’s lives have become more convenient and comfortable, but the attendant is the resources and energy which promote the industrial development will be exhausted. At the same time, the production of the municipal solid waste (MSW) in our daily life is also increasing, which becomes a serious threat to the survival of the human and environment. But the useful part of the MSW is more and more, therefore, it is a significant work we face that how to deal with the MSW, recycle energy from the MSW to make up for the shortage of energy as well as reduce damage to the environment.The treatment of the MSW incineration not only can greatly reduce its weight and volume, but also can efficiently recycle energy form waste. With the strengthening of environmental regulations, the development direction of the MSW’s disposal technology is low emission pollutant and high energy utilization rate. The MSW gasification technology has been applied and evolved due to its good environmental characteristics and high energy utilization rate. At the same time, people have begun to focus on the source disposal to improve the MSW’s quality, improve energy utilization rate and control pollutant emission by discharging the MSW’s source with technology. So the refuse derived fuel (RDF) technology emerges as the times require.Under this context, this paper wills study on the fluidized bed gasification characteristics of the RDF as main point. Firstly, investigate the domestic and foreign MSW’s disposal and management situation in recent years, the development history and present situation of MSW incineration technology. Secondly, summarize the preparation process and the development history of the refuse derived fuel (RDF), development and current situation of MSW Gasification technology. In the followed experimental part, start from collecting the original MSW by hands, and then complete the RDF production, Analyze the material composition difference between before and after RDF making. Then, use a fluidized bed gasification experimental platform to analyze RDF gasification experiment results and the distribution of matter and energy of the gasification products. Discussing the effects on the gasification products composition of increasing the intake gas temperature and different air preheating temperature, analyze tar component of gasification gas and test the content of heavy metals in RDF, bottom slag and fly ash.
