In this paper, the oxy-fluoride transparent glass ceramics co-doped with rare-earths (Yb3+、Er3+、Tm3+) which were proved to have good properties were prepared by traditional high temperature melting method. The ingredients of the glass were ensured and also the industrial art of preparation. The melting temperature was about1050℃and the constant hour was about35minutes. The temperature of thermal treatment and conditions of micro-crystallization were also determined.Strong emission peaks were obtained when the glass samples were pumped by the980nm laser. The up-conversion glasses were characterized by emission spectra, absorption spectra, transmittance curve. There were three emission peaks which are525nm,542nm and668nm, existed in the Yb3+/Er33+co-doped oxy-fluoride transparent glass ceramics, and they were originated from the transitions of Er3+2H11/2→4I15/2,4S3/2→4I15/2and4F9/2→4I15/2, respectively. In the system of Yb3+/Tm3+co-doped glasses, four emission peaks were existed and they were at364nm,453nm,480nm and649nm. The four peaks were corresponding to the transitions of Tm3+:1D2→3H6,1D2→3F4,1G4→3H6and1G4→3F4, respectively. The concentrations of rare-earths have great influence on luminescence intensity. From the experiments, the strongest luminescence were observed when the ratio of Re3+(Er3+,Tm3+)/Yb3+is4:1, and the concentration of Er3+and Tm3+were1.5mol%and2mol%. The mechanism of up-conversion was also built.
