Firstly, Eu(AA)3were prepared by the method of solution precipitation. Then prepare copolymer P(NIPAM-co-Eu(AA)3) by radical polymerization in this paper, using N-isopropylacrylamide(NIPAM) and Eu(AA)3as monomer. Varying the polymerization reaction conditions, furthermore, the P(NIPAM-co-Eu(AA)3) were investigated. The results are found:1. Eu(AA)3and the copolymers emit the characteristic fluorescence of Eu3+. Eu(AA)3and copolymers emit red light and it has well monochromatic, and water soluble of copolymer improved compared to the corresponding complexes.2. The LCST of P(NIPAM-co-Eu(AA)3) increases with increasing the content of Eu(AA)3, but the LCST value and molecular weight is inversely proportional.3. The conditions of polymerization reaction have notable effecbt on the performance of the fluorescence intensity of P(NIPAM-co-Eu(AA)3). Copolymers were prepared with different content of Eu(AA)3or initiator concentration in polymerization, the fluorescence intensity of the copolymer first increased and then decreased; Copolymers were prepared with different monomer concentration in polymerization. With the monomer concentration increases, the fluorescence intensity of the copolymers increased monotonously, which does not appear to the phenomenon of concentration quenching.
