| The coordination polymers have received much attention currently not onlybecause of their structural diversities but also their potential applications as optical, adsorbent, and catalytic materials. In this thesis, we chose4,4′-bis(1-imidazolyl)bibenzene,2-chlor-4,4′-bis(1-imidazolyl)bibenzene,benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid,4,4′-biphenyldicarboxylic acid (H2bpdb),1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid (H3btc),4-methyl--benzenecarboxylic acid (Hmbc) toreact with Cd(II), and afforded five supermolecular compounds1-5. We investigatetheir crystal structures and photoluminescent properties.1. A three-dimensional supramolecular coumpound [bimb·1,4-bdc]n(1) throughhydrogen bonding and π-π stacking interactions was attained by treatment of4,4’-twoimidazole biphenyl (bimb) and terephthalic acid (H2bdc)in hydrothermal condition andcharacterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and single-crystal X-diffraction.Compound [(bimb)·(1,4-bdc)]ncrystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c, α=12.792(3), β=10.156(2), γ=19.968(6), V=2113.0(9)3,Z=2, R1=0.0634,wR2=0.1407. In coumpoud [(bimb)·(1,4-bdc)]n. each H2bdc and bimb are connectedvia hydrogen-bonding interactions O-H···N to form1D (H2bdc)2-bimb-(H2bdc)2chain,which are further linked to its adjacent chain by non-classical hydrogen-bondinginteractions give a2D net. A three-dimension super-molecular structure is finallyobtained by means of π-π stacking interactions.2. Solvothermal reactions of CdCl2·2.5H2O with bimb and Hmbc afforded onecoordination polymer [Cd(mbc)2(bimb)2]n(2), CdCl2·2.5H2O with cbimb and1,4-H2bdc afforded one coordination polymer [Cd(1,4-bdc)(cbimb)]n(3).2possesses1D chains which are connected through π-π stacking interaction to result in3Dsupermolecular structure, while3is a pillared-layer3D framework. Solvothermalreactions of CdCl2·2.5H2O with H2bpdb or H3btc afforded [Cd(bpdb)(H2O)]n(4) and[Cd(btc)(H2O)5]n(5).4displays3D archtecture, while3D H-bonded nets (5) based onholding2D layers through intermolecular H-bonding interactions. |
