Chitosan draw attention to the whole word because its good properties involved theabundance source, reserves of the material, the cheap price and innocuity. The modifiedchitosan was made by graft co-polymerization of chitosan and acrylamide, which was used totreat dyeing wastewater. Through experimental researches, the effect rules of experimentalfactors of the copolymerization on the products were studied, including amount of monomer,reaction temperature and time, concentration of the initiator. The result indicated that whenthe factors were controlled at the quality rate1:5, the reaction time3hours, the amount ofinitiator6mmol/L, the reaction temperature50℃, grafted copolymer is optimized. ThroughIR spectrum data of chitosan and chitosan graft copolymer demonstrate that the reaction wasoccurred in our process.Treating dyeing wastewater is a difficulty both at home and abroad. The influence of aseries of coagulants/flocculants on the removal efficiency of color and organic compound wasevaluated in this paper, which include inorganic flocculant and organic flocculant. Thecoagulation mechanism was also investigated. The wastewater including Reactive BrilliantBlue KN-R, Reactive Brilliant Yellow K-4G, Reactive Brilliant Blue KN-G are treated bypoly aluminum chloride, poly ferric chloride, chitosan and graft co-polymerization ofchitosan and acrylamide. The kind of coagulant, the adding amount of coagulant, pH and thedeposited time are studied to ensure the optimal conditions by using jar test. When inorganicflocculant400~600mg/L, graft co-polymerization of chitosan and acrylamide5~7mg/L, pH6~8, deposited time20min was used for coagulation, the removal efficiency of color is thebest conditions for the three mentioned dyeing wastewater.Fluorescence spectroscopy analytical method is a new developing examining andmeasuring method. The fluorescence spectroscopy has the advantages of high sensitivity andselectivity, uses small quantity of sample. This technology has been widely used in therelative fields. The character of fluorescence spectroscopy of Rhodamine B, ReactiveBrilliant Blue KN-R, Reactive Brilliant Yellow K-4G was studied in this work. It is feasibilityto use fluorescence spectroscopy as a mesuare tool to determine the fluorescence properties of dyeing wastewater. The deeper research work still is carrying on.
