With the development of metallurgical technology, chloride hydrometallurgy is being paid more and more attention to its high efficiency, low energy consumption and low pollution. It is quite meaningful to research the thermodynamic properties of Transition metal chloride solution. This paper measures the heat capacities of transition metal chloride solution by C80micro calorimeter. The research work is as follows:1. The heat capacities in constant pressure of the aqueous solution of NiCl2, CuCl2, CoCl2at different temperature and concentration are measured, and the calculated model is obtained by fitting the data. Additionally, the partial molar heat capacity and the excess heat capacity are calculated. Moreover, the artical shows the parameters in the equation and the regular with the temperature by fitting the data of the heat capacity.2. The heat capacity of the system of NiCl2-CoCl2-H2O solution are determined, which illustrates the change law of the heat capacities with temperature and concentration. On the basis of the heat capacity model of the binary solution, correction factors related to the component concentration have been added to establish the heat capacity model of ternary solution, Then the heat capacity and apparent molar heat capacity at any temperature and concentration of the system of NiCl2-CoCl2-H2O solution can be calculated. It is shown that,(1) The apparent molar heat capacity increases with the increase of the temperature and the concentration over a certain range.(2) The apparent molar heat capacity of the solution with different ratio of solute changes a little, which can be ignored when the total concentration are the same.
