Amphoteric polyacrylamide (AmPAM) is a class with a special structure of linear water-soluble polymer compound. This kind of product has the advantage of product high purity, quality is stable and easy to utilize, which will has a wide range of applications value in the field of sewage treatment, oil field exploitation, papermaking additive etc. Due to the complexity of AmPAM structure and synthetic process, Has become the research hotspot of the majority of scholarsAmPAM was synthesised employ homopolymerization cohydrolysis method and copolymerization method under photoinitiation condition in this paper. Homopolymerization cohydrolysis method is based on methacryloyloxy ethyl and trimethylammonium chloride (DMC) with acrylamide (AM) occurs polymerization reaction and at the same time there are some amide groups is hydrolyzed to generate a carboxyl anion prepared AmPAM; Copolymerization method is based on sodium acrylate (NaAA) as the cation donor and DMC as the anion donor with acrylamide (AM) copolymerization prepared AmPAM. Study of the reaction system monomer ratio, monomer concentration,the amount of initiator,Illumination time, reaction temperature, PH value and other factors for the influence of on the solids content of the product,relative molecular mass, product conversion rate,comparison of the pros and cons of the two synthetic methods, through orthogonal experiment obtained the best experimental program to provide a theoretical basis for industrial production.Synthetic AmPAM through two methods to determine the optimal conditions: homopolymerization cohydrolysis method synthesised AmPAM best process: n(AM):n(NaOH):n(DMC)=1:0.15:0.18, monomer mass fraction is35%, dosage of initiator is0.08%, illumination time about1h, the pH of the reaction system is7.5, the reaction temperature is30℃, the product of intrinsic viscosity is522mL/g, the solid content is44.3%, the cationic degree is14.78%, anionic degree is11.13%, the amount of residual acrylamide is0.042%; copolymerization method synthesised AmPAM best process:n(AM):n(NaAA):n(DMC)=l:0.65:0.16,monomer concentration is40%,dosage of initiator is0.06%, illumination time about2h, the pH of the reaction system is7.0the reaction temperature is40℃, the product of intrinsic viscosity is813mL/g,the solid content is47.1%, the anionic degree is35.65%, cationic degree is9.40%, the amount of residual acrylamide is0.037%.Composition and structural characterization by infrared spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectrum spectra of the synthesized product, the results show that the polymer has been generated. Experiment products and industrial synthesis APAM, CPAM, NPAM the slime water flocculation effect comparison, AmPAM to slime water flocculation experiment of supernatant fluid clarification degree effect and settle velocity is better than industrial products. By the comparison of the two types of mine area slime water that AmPAM for difficult settlement, fine granularity, high ash coal slime water flocculation have a good effect.
