The21st century will be a new era for composite materials,which have been replaced the traditional materials-homogeneous materials for its good mechanical properties, physical properties and chemical properties in many fields. As an important branch of composite materials, fiber reinforced composite materials gain rapid development with its excellent performances. It has been applied in such areas as aviation, aerospace, transportation, sports and public health and so on. With the use of high performance fiber and resin, it accelerates the development of the fiber reinforced composite materials.This paper focused on the study on mechanical properties of multi-axial warp knitting reinforced composites, mainly including tensile, tearing, stripping and impact behavior,.First of all, the paper introduces the weaving technology of multi-axial warp knitting technology. Then summarize its characteristics and introduce the various application fields of composite materials based on it. And then detail the processing process of flexible composite materials based on multi-axial fabric, which sets the stage for the next testing.Secondly, we focused on the tensile of the composite material based on multi-axial warp knitting fabric, which was produced in two ways with two kinds of fabrics and materials, and then summarize and analyze the factors of affecting the tensile. The coated fabric gives more resistance than that of typical dual directional layers of filaments, because it was inserted more than four layers equably on the plane, which is also the reason of strengthening the isotropy of tensile performance.Moreover, dealing with the analyses of the graphs and pictures from the tests, this paper introduced the performance of coated fabric’s tearing and stripping. Thirdly, this article investigated the impact property of multi-axial composite material. We mainly studied the performance of different composite under different impact-velocity, then discussed influence factors that affected the impact property of multi-axial composite material, and summarized the law of this material.Finally, this paper clearly articulated problems that encountered in the production of multi-axial warp knitting fabrics and in the preparation of multi-axial composite material. Meanwhile, we pointed out the shortcomings of composite material under the tests. Hope these research results provide a reference for the study of the multi-axial warp knitting fabrics, and give a base for further in-depth study.
