Effective pretreatment technology can promote the enzymatic hydrolysis of lignocellulose to fermentable sugars. It is a critical process steps in the production of fuel ethanol. As a novel pretreatment technology, ionic liquid pre-treatment has been extensive researched due to its green, good thermal stability, non-flammable, non-volatile, a wide range of dissolution and reusable property. Two kinds of ionic liquids:1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([Amim]C1) and1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([Emim]Ac), are used to treat Citrus’s branches and leaves and rice straw. The reducing sugar and sugar compounds yield after enzymatic hydrolysis and the chemical composition of Citrus’s branches and leaves and rice straw were investigated, while the untreated Citrus’s branches and leaves and rice straw was used as the control. Three factors and three levels orthogonal test have been taken to find the optimistic pretreatment condition. The results showed that, the yield of reducing sugar of Citrus’s branches and leaves pretreat by [Amim]Cl or [Emim]Ac respectively reached269.47mg/g (150oC,4h,1:12) or302.66mg/g (130℃,6h,1:12); the yield of reducing sugar of rice straw pretreat by [Amim]Cl or [Emim]Ac respectively reached281.35mg/g (130℃,4h,1:12) or306.13mg/g (130oC,2h,1:10);The morphology characterization, molecular structural and crystal morphology of the Citrus’s branches and leaves and rice straw were carried out by FT-IR, XRD and SEM. The mechanism of the ionic liquid [Amim]Cl and [Emim]Ac pretreatment promoting that Citrus’s branches and leaves and rice straw lignocellulose enzymatic hydrolysis for sugar-producing is preliminary clarifyed.
