Plasmonic photocatalys based on Ag nanoparticles are a novel class of plasmonic photocatalysts. The plasmonic photocatalysts are promising candidates for the development of highly efficient and stable visible-light photocatalysts, sensors, and solar cells. In this thesis, the highly efficient and stable plasmonic Ag/AgCl nanotubes and hollow Ag/AgCl nanoparticles photocatalysts were successfully synthesized by template method and redox reaction; in addition, CaCO3AgaCO3/Agl/Ag composite photocatalyst was also successfully fabricated through ion-exchange route. The morphologies and properties of the synthesized samples were investigated in details by XRD, SEM, TEM, DRS and XPS measurements. The results showed in the Ag/AgCl system that, the morphology and molor ratio between Ag and Fe can significantly influence the property of their photocatalytic properties, and Ag/AgCl nanotubes and hollow Ag/AgCl nanoparticles have excellent photocatalytic degradation ability for dyes under the visible light region. In addition, for the CaCO3/Ag2CO3/AgI/Ag composite photocatalyst, the result of the photocatalytic degradation experiment showed Nal is an important factor on the photocatalytic degradation of MO. The CaCO3/Ag2CO3/AgI/Ag composite photocatalysts have excellent photocatalytic activity. It was found that the composite photocatalysts show superior photocatalytic performance and the addition of Na2CO3can effectively improve the photocatalytic stability.
