With the development of the textile industry, versatile and complex structure of various composite and blended fibers have become a new research direction. And the qualitative analysis of composite fiber is in keeping with the trend of the time. Composite fiber has strong features with great variety and different combinations, so that it has great difficulty in the qualitative identification, and it’s hard to find an effective separation of the components with suitable solvents. That is, the conventional qualitative methods are not accurate identification of the different components. Therefore, combining microscopy techniques and spectroscopic techniques is used to analyze the component of the composite fibers, especially sheath-core type and parallel-type composite fibers, in order to provide a reference for the establishment of the components of composite fiber qualitative analysis methods.The main content of the project is to study the application of Fourier infrared microscopy, and laser Raman microscopy techniques to qualitative identification of composite fibers.The main technical points are as follows:(1) Observe the cross section shapes of11kinds of composite fibers that come from market through the microscope, and choose those have obvious cross section shapes to investigate the components by the method of melting point and infrared spectroscopy and other traditional identification method, but the results were not significant.(2) Sample preparation:research slicing technology of sample by comparing the advantages of Hastelloy slicing method and copper sectioning techniques,and select a suitable sample pretreatment which fit for microscopic spectroscopy techniques. Testing found that copper sectioning is the best one.(3) Infrared microscopy spectroscopy scanning:set microscopic infrared spectrometer parameters conditions, in order to get a clear fiber imaging and IR spectra The test found that the method is applicable to the core-sheath composite fiber which core diameter is greater than20μm.(4) Raman microscopy spectroscopy scanning:set microscopic raman spectrometer parameters conditions, in order to get a clear fiber imaging and Raman spectroscopy spectra. The test found that the method is applicable in many types of composite fibers which have layers of maximum area more than1square micron. (5) Raman spectra library established:establish a standard part of the Raman spectra of synthetic fibers, in order to provide guidance and reference for the latter part of the study.Infrared microscopy spectroscopy and raman microscopy spectroscopy can effectively distinguish the various components of composite fibers, including seven kinds of core-sheath structure and side-by-section composite fibers, therefor, microscopy spectrometry technology is an effective means of detecting the composite fibers.This topic provide a reference basis for the establishment of qualitative analysis methods of composite fiber. And this method can fill in the blank of the traditional qualitative methods of qualitative identification of composite fiber difficultly, and provide effective technical support for research and quality control of new type fiber. In addition, the project have established the micro raman spectrum library of composite fibres, which have reached the leading position and foreign advanced level.
